Priority List

Once you've succeeded in getting rid of your house for sale in Stouffville, it's time to shop around for that perfect Cleveland property. The problem facing most buyers at this point is that in a big city like Cleveland, there are simply too many homes for sale for a buyer to look at them all. In this case, it often helps to create a priority list that you or your real estate agent can use to weed out the unsuitable properties from the long list of available houses. Here are some tips on how to make one.

The first step in the priority list creation process is to brainstorm everything you want in a house. This isn't an exercise in creating your dream property. You should be realistic about your wants and needs and what you think you can afford. For instance, we all want to build our own properties with secret passages and turrets, but when you make your house plans you will seldom find these features affordable or wise to include unless you want to limit the home's resale potential.

Some of the things you should think about during your brainstorm session are how many bedrooms you'll need and what sort of square footage you're looking for. To determine how much space you need, think about the size of your old Toronto condos and then figure out if you want more or less space and by what percentage (e.g. 50% bigger). The number of bathrooms you want is also a good thing to figure out, along with whether you want special features like a garage or swimming pool and what type of neighborhood you want to live in.

When your brainstorm session is finished, the results will be in no shape to go straight to Scarborough real estate agents, as it will probably be too long and specific. Before you can use it to pare down the list of properties, you will need to prioritize the items on your list. Is it more important that the home have four bedrooms or that it have a big backyard? If you had to choose between a deck and a pool which one would it be? This will help your agent find the best matches.

It's important, when you're creating your priority list, that everyone who will be living in the property has a chance to contribute. If your kids aren't happy about putting up your old Toronto homes for sale, asking their opinion on the new place is sure to help sooth their ruffled feathers.
